Lovely Leslie~9 months

Leslie turned nine months old on the hottest day in Seattle's recorded history. It was 104 degrees out! She did NOT like the heat, so we spent a bit of time at the pool that day. This month she's been fine tuning her army crawl and working on her chattering. She's also learned to suck out of a straw. She likes whatever Mommy's having even if it's something she can't have. She's been learning that 'No' means she can't have it.
Leslie has been trying very hard to pull herself up on the furniture, but she hasn't quite figured out to use her knees for support.
She loves it when Daddy comes home from work. She squeals with excitement when she sees him walk through the door. She likes to clap with Daddy and joke around with him. She blows raspberries when she thinks we're laughing at her. She thinks it's hilarious when he kicks her little pink ball against the wall and when her teddy bear gets her.

Eight Months Old
Our lovely lady is 8 months old today. This month has been an especially busy month for her. She has learned to army crawl, she's cut her lower left tooth, she learned to wave (we didn't teach her that), and she's learned to clap. She likes to play musical instruments and sing along. She also likes to display her musical talent in church and flash her dashing little smile at whoever will give her the time of day. Some firsts this month:
We got her ears pierced
She went camping with Grandma Edi
She went to Wild Waves and rode the carousel
Now that Leslie can crawl, we're having to baby proof our house. She likes to get into the DVD's. She difinitely keeps us more on our toes, but we love our little red-head to bits. Check out the babe in her suit below.

1st Emergency Room visit!
So today we took Leslie to the Emergency room for the first time. Beginning yesterday at about the time that double Jeopardy came on, Leslie began feeling very hot and had icy cold hands. Stephanie said that she thought she might be catching a cold or something. We eventually went to sleep as Leslie was not feeling well. SO, at about 4:30am this morning she woke up screaming- crying and shaking. We took her temp. and it was over 101 degrees. She felt extremely hot and was doing this kind of jitter, shaky weird thing which really made us uneasy. We calmed her down and went back to sleep until my alarm went off at around 6:45am. She woke up again screaming and shaking weirdly, so we decided that we should go to the doctor or something. So we met up with Steph's mom and headed to the doctor. Of course, it was closed so we went to the Emergency room. By this time Leslie was mostly calm but still not feeling well. They looked her over and couldn't find anything serious and just gave her some Tylenol to break the fever. They wanted to do every test that they could think of on her and thought that we were freaks for not having given her any immunizations yet - So we want to wait - BIG deal! I guess we must be horrible parents or something - anyway- we said um no thanks to some horrible test and that was about it. Stephanie was a little rattled over the whole thing and Leslie still is not up to par but she's doing a little better. We all went to Starbucks for a relaxing frap afterwards and I headed back to work - The End - Ryan

3 months old yesterday

Leslie's voice has developed this month. She coos and says boo. I love the video above because she is very vocal when she kisses. It makes me laugh.
She follows things with her eyes very well and smiles at just about anyone who says hello to her. In the video of her below you can see her follow the mobile on her swing. She loves that thing! Often times she'll smile at the bear on it. (The noise in the background is the washing machine)
Leslie has also discovered that she likes the little baby in the mirror. I'm not sure she knows that it's her, but she's not too shy to throw a dashing smile at herself.
I think she's learned what "are you hungry" means. She gets pretty excited when I ask her.
She now lifts her head up off her bouncy seat.
We've discovered that her moby (the purple wrap in the picture below) is the best way to get through a church service without crying. BTW, this picture is for you Rachael. It's never to early to start in the kitchen with the Pampered Chef right?

But mommy, I don't want to ride the elephant!
